Responding to Failure
Not everyone responds the same to failure. Some individuals look to others to place the blame; while others take the high road and the heat to find a why back into the game. Here are three tips to help you respond to failure:
- Remember Your Past Successes! What did you do to plan, execute on the delivery of your product or service and at the end reward yourself? Do you recall that feeling? Get back into the game by reading emails and letters from satisfied customers. Remember, your goal for starting a business was not to fail.
- Search for a lesson. In business, mistakes happen. Assess the situation that caused the failure. Failing is inevitable but it's how you deal with it. What lessons can you take from the situation to help you move forward? Surround yourself with your brain team or advisory board who can help you see setbacks as opportunities to improve.
